A dog's vacation away from home..
Our Day/Vacation Care program is designed for owners to have a safe, non-kenneling place to bring their dogs and to be an opportunity for problem dogs to have behavorial issues addressed (house breaking, aggression to other dogs, developement of social skills.) We love any breed who comes!!! Please note: During major holidays, training will NOT be offered for the safety of all pets.
For both day and vacation care services our prices are:
$10/day for 30lbs and under, and $15 for up to 50lbs. All visits are figured on a 24hr period OR LESS. Sorry, anything over 50lbs cannot come anymore, unless we meet the dog first (strict policy no exceptions, so don't ask). This rate applies to the BREED not the "current weight" or a puppy of that breed at the time of drop off. (ie. chihuahua is under 10lbs, dachshund under 30lbs, and labs are over 30lbs.) Call ahead for pricing. Ask about discount availability. If you wish to board your dog AND have training done, add an additional $5/day/dog. There will also be an additional fee applied for all major holiday (ie. Thanksgiving and Christmas) reservations. This will help cover the cost of your dog's holiday celebration and any extra help hired to assist on busy holidays. (Watch for notices.)
We do not charge extra for dog entertainment, we consider that our responsibility while your dog is staying with us. No caging, your dog will stay in a fenced in yard or be in our home. Proof of all shots are required. And during the months of March-Oct, heartworm and flea protection also are required. If no documentation of this is provided, it will be given to your pet upon arrival for an extra fee--$5/treatment (Click on orange icon for a list of other treatments and services provided.) As of May 1, 2009, we now require all owners to bring their own dog food and treats to avoid a flat rate charge. Space is very limited so call ahead TO BOOK YOUR DOG'S VACATION AWAY FROM HOME!!
Below are photos of Day Care/Vacation Care Participants
Frank and Jessie (namesakes of the James brothers), are regular vacationers since March of 2006. "THE JAMES BROTHERS ARE IN THE HOUSE!!"
"Our pets are always clean, bathed and well fed. They are always promptly ready to go at time of pick up and PLF has made themselves available everytime when needing to book appointments." - Dr. Dan Slutzker, owner of Frank and Jessie
Roger (the piebald) and Mr. T (the black and tan) are regular vacationers since July 2007. They were purchased by their owner's from Busy Bee Doxie. To see what is available for adoption go to www.bbdox.com
"We are pleased that our pets are clean and ready to go when we pick them up. PLF has been very willing to accommodate our scheduled out-of-town vacations, and we look forward to returning our boys for the next time." -Carl and Mary Metcalf, owners of Roger and Mr. T.
Nap time at the day/vacation care. Rough life with a doggie door to come and go outside; and a human bed to sleep in at night. Someone has to do it!!!
Coney and Cloie are 2 red doxies that participate in our vacation program as needed when their "mom" has to go out of town for her job. They are learning the skills of socializing with other dogs and doing well. Keep up the good work you two!!!
"All I can say is that it makes all the difference in the world to know that your dogs are safe, being cared for, and in a great home. It has been a lifesaver for me & feel so fortunate to have been referred to you." -Christine LaPointe, owner of Coney and Cloie
New, please note: Office Hours of operation:
Mon-Sat. 8am-6pm Sundays 1pm-6pm with 1 strict hour notice of estimated arrival time.
Location: 1 mile off Merchants Dr Exit in Knoxville. Call for directions. Please remember this is our home, not a store on Broadway. We expect you to respect our privacy. If you don't have an appointment, you don't come by.
As you can see, the dogs have a path made from the back deck to the fence in order to bark at the neighbor's dogs on the other side when their owners arrive home from work in the evenings. The vacationers quickly pick up on this and consider it very fun, indeed.
Our guests also quickly learn that I and the couch are a safe and comfortable place to lay on a rainy afternoon. In my lap I am holding from left to right "Molly, Angus, Oscar, and Ginger." Four precious dachshunds that have vacationed with us since 2007. All of these were also purchased from Tammy at Busy Bee Doxies.
Yes, we take more than just dachshunds. This is "Cashmere" a beautiful white Lasa. She thought the long dogs were funny at first, but warmed up eventually and plays with her friend Molly. Cashmere just started with us and we want to welcome her aboard.
NOW FEATURING A WADDING POOL, Filtered water fountains, heated down couch, and a Bubble Machine!!! COME JOIN THE FUN!!!
(They are smelling the pieces of chicken in the sandbox to dig and find. Fun!!)
"CHARLIE" (Yes, seems to be a common name here amoung our vacationers.) Charlie came to play for his vacation this past June 2008 for 10 days. He had fun and so did Hazel. He insisted that the recliner was his. If someone sat in it, he sat on them.
"Jupiter" is the Italian Greyhound that was 13wks old at the time of his vacation stay this July 2008. We called him "Legs" and he started answering to it. He ran from the dachshunds and left them in the dust. He was a pleasure. While here, we started regular house training and by the 4th day he never went in the house again. Good Job "Legs!:
Clarabelle is daring you to take the ball from her!!! Play time is a very serious matter. You touch it.......
Cashmere and Frank flattened the toy by the end of their stay.
Sisy dragging the poor Pelican off to his death, then...a soft snore. SWEET!!!
"Klancy" a frequent visitor, loves to play with Cashmere then curls up for a quick nap--always "on guard" with one eye open for the next trick Cashmere might try.
My "Hahna," now 10 years old and still playing like a puppy!!!
But then.. Sisy got the toy from Hahna and---
.NOW Featuring: Outings on Tuesdays and Thursdays, (also Saturdays sometimes).
A email sent Sept. 2008, from a vacationer's blue/tan 9mo. old dachshund::
"Just wanted to send a special thank you for caring for my baby. It was hard leaving him, but I knew I had left him in good hands. You are a special person to have such love in your heart. Thank you so much for keeping me informed about Axel during my vacation. You'll never know how much that helped. It's good to know that you are there if ever I need you. Thanks again." -Axle's mom, Vickie

As you can tell, they are spoiled, if not by me then by anyone visiting...
March 29th-April first is Knox Co. TN week of springbreak. Rather than charging per dog, we will add an additional $40/family to help cover extra employment assistance. This will be charged to anyone staying that week reguardless of whether your dog stays the full week or not.
"Zoey" a tiny Chichauhau with a lot of personality comes to play rough and love hard. She follows Roger around like he is God. She prances like a little Tennessee Walker...can't tell we love her, huh?
"Bobo" enjoying his time in the hot tub and watch tv. Yes, it really is a dog's vacation here a PLF.
Playing hard leads to sleeping comfortable. Only Hahna knows how to do it the best.
This punked Yorkie knows how to antaganize along with his sister Foxy who is so sweet and quiet. Owned by Ms.
Hosenfeld, the Yorkie was put on a house training regimin while Foxy just got all the love she could tolerate.
"Roger, you make funny sounds," says Miley, Klancy's new sister.
We would like to invite you to come see our vacation for dog's yourself. Plan to spend at least 30 mins. You will see whoever is here and our dogs, tour the farm, and laugh at the stories told on each special dog that we have the privilege of meeting. Thanks for visiting our website.
"Bailey" a regular visitor loves to play hard then crash softly snoring on Roger's propted chair. Good job Bailey.
Or chasing a big purple ball...
Laying in the guest's bed is always so much better huh, Daisy and Hazel??
Don't be surprised if your dog comes home exhausted and sleeps a lot for the first 24 hrs. THEY HAVE EARNED IT!
After all this rain, the sun sure does feel good, says Abby.
Your dog's vacation away from home...we treat him like he IS HOME!!
Frank was happy to find that PLF now has a bigger doggie door that his frame can fit through comfortably!!
My dogs are convinced that Klancy and Miley's Mom Connie brings the soft square "Lazy Boy" for them and not for her dogs!! They fight over who's turn it is to lay in it while Klancy and Miley play smart and get in the human bed...

Molly and Mira are regular daycare dogs here at PLF since Spring 2009...below is a quote from their Mom Tina Piquet...
" PLF is an awesome place to take your dogs for vacation or daycare! I work long hours and my job requires me to travel so I leave my two mutts there all the time and have no complaints! The service is far better than you could expect at a more traditional kennel and the dogs beg to be let in the door when they get ther...e! That really tells me that they are getting amazing care and lots of love when I am at work. Dogs do not simply "stay" at Puppy Luv Farms, it is like a second home for them where they can receive love and care unlike anywhere else! Aside from being hands-down the most affordable dog care service anywhere near Knoxville, TN, PLF is the only dog care service anywhere near Knoxville that I would consider leaving my dogs after seeing the awesome care they get there. A++ PLF!
This quote comes from Jenny Boyd who enrolled her grand-puppy "Meme" into our kennel and housebreaking training before giving her to her son for Christmas morning. Her and her husband own Petsafe Village in Farragut, TN ( a large, kenneling/dog park facility in the Knoxville area):
"Puppy Luv Farms is awesome! After buying a puppy for our son for Christmas, we had to board her for a few weeks before the big day. What a great place for love, attention and training! As long as I know that Sona has Mee-Mee, I have no worries! She is so attentive and loving, and the dogs are so happy to be there. I love visiting there and playing with the dogs. I also love how she keeps in touch with you regarding your dog and their needs. You can't find a better place!" -Jenny Boyd, Grandma to Meme
